Research interests

Our lab group focusses on custom LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) and the analysis of "large" biological data sets. We emphasize Web interfaces to ease collaboration within user research labs. For analysis we often utilize biological ontologies and Genetic Algorithms. Our weapons of choice are usually Perl and MySQL.

Currently we are working in collaboration with Dr. Dina Newman, Dr. Gary Skuse, and Dr. Sandi Connelly. These projects involve the study of presbycusis (age related hearing loss), the evolution of viral genomes, and the effects of UV-induced damage.
